The feast of Mary this week and during this time of Advent in the Church is a reminder that the Marian component in the vocation of the Comboni Missionary is an essential part of our lives. Our devotion is born of the contemplation of Mary ~ we look first at what the Lord has done in her, touching and regenerating her with his grace and making her an icon of all humanity loved and saved and therefore, as sign of hope for all of us. On the other hand we see in the Virgin Mary the full availability to be shaped by the merciful love of God each day of her life, thus becoming the first missionary.
Mary is a challenge to all of us, a constant invitation to start each day on a journey of conversion to the ways of God in our missionary service, so that his redemptive grace may freely act in us and in history in order to lead it slowly but constantly to its fulfillment.

Your meditations this week have been magisterial. Without re-writing Lumen Gentium 8, you have captured the essence of Mary’s vocation in the Church and in our lives. With today’s reflection on Mary’s presence in the spirituality of the Comboniani, the tale of her Call to be Yours, Mine and Ours is complete. My own prayer is that you may grow ever deeper in your love for Mary, not only in your Office, but also in your heart. Let her love you!

Thank you for these reflections this week. Our Mother came late to me since my conversion at 18. MANY years ago. I loved her, I prayed the Rosary (once a while) and I respected her, but I had not as yet surrendered to her love. This all changed in 2004 when she asked me to in my heart. Now she is truly my mother.
Thank you for the reminder at how incredible is this gift from God
And there is still much more to Her! Much much more than one dares to admite …
She is much more than it is said out loud!
And She is the true doer of unconditional love on earth!!!!
The energy is changing and shifting - soon it will be said out loud and all will know it too!
