The Comboni Missionary International Theologate, in conjunction with the Catholic Theological Union, has formed the Comboni Missionary seminarians since 1976. This is one of 8 Theologates of the Comboni Missionaries around the world. We ask that our students study their theology in a language different than their “first language” or mother tongue so Comboni seminarians come here to learn English and to finishing their formation to the priesthood. The study of theology is an important part of their formation, the heart of which remains the experiential living of their vocation.

Besides from their theological studies, the young men experience living in an international community while learning about our culture. Concrete ministerial commitments are also a part of this process and each is involved with programs at parishes in the Chicago area. The Theologate is dedicated to training and preparing future Comboni Missionaries for God-centered service as missionaries to the world in the spirit and charism of St. Daniel Comboni.
